Join the Seniors Section

Joining a new golf club either for the first time or just relocating can be very daunting. Below is a short précis of what Tall Pines has to offer Senior Golfers with a little time to spare.

Although no one is expected to join the Seniors Section it is probably the easiest way of getting to know people and finding out exactly what goes on.

The Seniors Section has a £15 a year subscription, this gives you free entry to all the summer knockouts and other one-off trophy competitions held throughout the year. It also covers all admin charges incurred.

Seniors Day is on a Monday, this includes,

Informal roll ups - book in at the proshop and you’ll be allocated a tee time with 2 other members.

Qualifying Stablefords – a pre booked tee time.

Monthly Specials - a one off competition, hosted by a volunteer member, rules for the days play decided by the host. Normally a lot of fun and not very serious!

Once a month we hold a Qualifying Medal on a Wednesday with a pre booked tee time.

Seniors Team Matches

Friendlies - we play 26 matches against other clubs in the local area followed by a meal, everyone wants to win but they don't ever mention it.

Seniors Avalon League - for the lower handicapper, a bit more serious, played on a home and away basis.

Somerset Bowl and Scratch Cup  - Annual knockout competitions organised by the Somerset Golf Union.

Throughout the week groups of seniors play at different times, so please ask, you'll soon find people that you would like to play with.

We have a lot going on at Tall Pines and you’ll be playing one of the best courses in Southern England that rarely closes its doors because of the weather. We look forward to meeting you so come and check us out.
